Vegan fests. They usually come with lots of amazing food to sample, vegan-themed merchandise, a ton of cool vendors and speakers to check out. In East Tennessee, we are lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing vegan fests, including those in Asheville, Atlanta, and Nashville each year. We even heard about a vegan fest that happens in Johnson City!

All of us at Knox Vegan are super excited about these options for attending vegan fests near us, but we’ve always wished there was one in Knoxville. Until now! We’re thrilled that on October 6th, 2018, Knoxville Farmed Animal Save is hosting the 1st annual Scruffy City Vegan Fest at the Knoxville Expo Center at 5441 Clinton Highway, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Three Rivers Co-Op is the major sponsor, so don’t forget to thank them when you’re there next!

Their website, www.knoxvillevegfest.com, highlights a variety of vendors and speakers throughout the day, and we are excited to hear about the local favorite VietGrill food truck being in attendance! We’ve also heard through the grapevine that Sanctuary Vegan Cafe will have vegan desserts…..so we’ll be attending the event hungry and ready to try lots of amazing food.

While Knox Vegan won’t have an official presence there, we hope that the event will spur lots of curiosity for folks thinking about going vegan, and luckily, our website is a great resource for finding vegan options across Knoxville.

Tickets are only $5 (you can purchase them here)

As always, if you ever want advice on transitioning to plant-based foods, finding vegan options in Knoxville, or general advice on veganism, always feel free to reach out to us here or on our social media. We love helping folks get a taste of veganism in our great city!
